Ms. Álvarez-Amandi joined Hyperion in 2007 accumulating over 10 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, with specific focus on General Management, M&A and developing of projects; having an important role on the development of around 300 MW of solar projects in the Iberian Peninsula. She also co-founded the start-up Girissima, international fashion e-commerce that operated during the period 2011-2015 and managed to close a round A investment in late 2013.
Prior to joining Hyperion, Ms. Álvarez-Amandi worked for the strategy area of Barclays Spain, was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, based in the Madrid office, engaging in various projects in different sectors. Previously, she worked for Unión Fenosa (currently Gas Natural Fenosa) – a Spanish company that operated in the energy sector, in the Energetic Studies Department out of Madrid. During 2003, she collaborated in the Transports and Energy General Director for the European Commission in Brussels.
Ms. Álvarez-Amandi has a Master of Science Degree in Mining Engineering from Universidad de Oviedo (double degree on Energy and Management & Environment), and studied abroad with an Erasmus Programme at Nottingham University. She received the National Graduation Award for Higher University Education (‘Premio Nacional de Fin de Carrera de Educación Universitaria’). Ms. Álvarez-Amandi is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
